Clarins Lip Comfort Oil Review

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil is infused with plant oils for moisturizing and visible plumping of the lips. Its cocoon-like effect on the lips feels protective and refreshing.

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil was suggested to me on my most recent jaunt through Clarins to re-up my favorites.

I wanted something for my work Zoom calls that wasn’t exactly a lipstick but provided a hint of color and shine and this lip oil seemed perfect for it.

In this article, I share a detailed Clarins Lip Comfort Oil review, what I loved about the lip oil, and its staying power on the lips.

What is Clarins Lip Comfort Oil?

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil is a combination of unique oils that hydrate, nourish, protect, repair, and plump the lips.

The unique oils used in this lip comfort oil include organic jojoba oil, hazelnut oil, and rosehip star extract oil.

The lip oil is suitable for all skin types and can be used any time of day or evening.

According to Clarins, “98%* of women say their lips are beautified after applying Lip Comfort Oil while 85%* of women say they woke up to nourished lips after using shade 01 honey as a night mask.”

More recently, Clarins Lip Comfort Oil went viral on Tik Tok where the hashtag #ClarinsLipOil has over 26 million views!

Additonally, 5 of the shades available react to the pH of your lips to create shades that are uniquely your own!

How To Wear Clarins Lip Comfort Oil

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil can be worn in four different ways:-

  1. Clarins Lip Comfort Oil can be used as a primer for a lipstick with a richer shade like Mac’s Ruby Woo.
  2. Clarins Lip Comfort Oil can be worn on its own for softness, hydration and a hint of color.
  3. Clarins Lip Comfort Oil can be applied over a matte lipstick for a bit of shine.
  4. One of the lip oils in the range, honey (01), can be used as a softening overnight treatment for dry lips.

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil Review

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil is available in eight lovely shades – honey (01), raspberry (02), cherry (03), pitaya (04), apricot (05), strawberry (08), chocolate(09), and plum (10).

There’s also the Lip Comfort Oil Intense line which provides more intense color and mirror-like shine.

I wanted a light shade and a richer shade so I went for Intense Pink and Pitaya.

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil (Pitaya) is a light shade that moisturized and softened my lips instantly.

It also gave me shiny lips that were not too loud. However, it did not last very long and required reapplication every few hours.

Intense Pink on the other hand provided a great shade of pinkish-red that did everything above but also dried matte and stayed on all day.

Intense Pink stayed on through coffee, lunch, and snacks and came off only when I used a make-up remover at night. That makes it a winner for me!

I do not like reapplying lip stains so I prefer something that stays on all day and the intense pink fit the requirement perfectly!

So, how much is this amazing lip oil? The comfort lip oil retails for $27 and comes in a 7 ml bottle.

Lip Comfort Oil Intense retails for $29 and comes in a 7 ml bottle as well.

Lip Comfort Oil Intense is available in eight shades too – nude (01), plum (02), raspberry (03), rosewood (04), pink (05), fuchsia (06), red (07), and burgundy (08).

Overall, I rate Lip Comfort Oil 4 out of 5 and Lip Comfort Oil Intense 5 out of 5.

I will be trying more shades from the intense line and might get the honey from the other line for overnight treatment. I currently use Aquaphor for this.

Final Word on Clarins Lip Comfort Oil

These are great lip oils that moisturize and soften all skin types. The oils also provide intense shine throughout the day.

Lip Comfort Oil provides subtle color that will require reapplication while Intense Comfort Oil provides a richer color with staying power.

The price is reasonable and a similar oil from Dior retails for $35. However, you can certainly find drug store brands that are cheaper but I prefer Clarins quality.

Before Clarins lip oils, I tried two of Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer products and still have them in my stash but I use the Clarins lips oils more now.

Have you tried either of the lip comfort oils? What did you think of it? Share in the comments section.
