Garnier Micellar Jelly Water is an effective, gentle, non-irritating, and hydrating acne-friendly micellar water that makes a great counterpart to the best-selling Garnier Micellar Water.
My skin is great these days but I always like to keep acne-friendly products in my rotation because I still develop some spots around my ovulation period.
I stumbled on Garnier Micellar Jelly Water on my last shopping trip and just had to give it a try.
What is Garnier Micellar Water?
Garnier Micellar Water is an all-in-one cleanser specially formulated to dissolve makeup, cleanse and refresh the skin.
Micelles (oil particles suspended in water) lift away dirt and grime, oil, etc without the need for harsh rubbing.
There are different types of Garnier Micellar Water for sensitive skin, oily skin, dry skin, dull skin, normal skin, and all skin types.
Prior to discovering Garnier Micellar Jelly Water, I was using the Garnier Micellar Water for oily skin.
Garnier Micellar Jelly Water
Garnier Micellar Jelly Water is a jelly-like texture infused with three key ingredients for acne and blemish care:-
1. Charcoal powder
The charcoal powder is supposed to absorb excess oil, help unclog pores and remove dead skin cells without stripping the skin.
2. Salicylic acid
Salicylic acid gently detoxifies and exfoliates the skin. It’s ideal for other skin conditions and not just acne. Namely, psoriasis, and seborrheic dermatitis.
This study outlined salicylic acid has been used as a cleanser for over 2,000 years to treat various skin disorders and its exfoliating properties makes it a good agent for peeling.
It’s the primary ingredient in my at home peel, MakeUp Artists Choice 15% Salicylic Acid Home Peel. Use code HAFA1 for 20% off!
3. Benzoic acid
Benzoic acid is an antiseptic agent that helps reduce inflammation, soothe flare-ups and contains minor moisturizing properties.
Garnier Micellar Jelly Water is approved by Cruelty Free International and contains no oil, fragrances, parabens, sulfates, or silicone.
Garnier Micellar Jelly Water Review
Garnier Micellar Jelly Water has a jelly-like texture without being sticky or gooey. Here’s how the texture looks on my cotton pad:-
The jelly water is dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested for safety too!
I used it the same way I used the Garnier Micellar Water for oily/combination skin. Apply to a cotton pad and gently wipe down my face, neck, and eye areas.
You can also use bamboo reusable make-up remover pads if you prefer. This pack comes with 14 pads plus a mesh washing bag to preserve integrity.
I really liked the refreshed, crisp, and tightened way my skin felt afterward.
It’s important to note it did not dry out my skin after application. I have oily/combination skin. It is also a fragrance-free formula making it ideal for sensitive skin.
I haven’t used it long enough to attest to its anti-acne properties but I have a good feeling about it.
I will be back to update this post by the time I get to the end of the first bottle. Takes me about 12 – 16 weeks to get through a bottle.
It seems like a long time but I work from home so I don’t use make-up every day.
Where To Buy Garnier Micellar Jelly Water?
Garnier Micellar Jelly Water comes in a clear plastic bottle with a flip-top cap and is 13.5 fl oz in size. It retails for a budget-friendly $7.97.
Currently, Garnier Micellar Jelly Water is only available at Walmart stores – Walmart Canada | Walmart US.
You can also find Garnier Micellar Jelly Water on Amazon Canada for under CA$10.
When Garnier Micellar Jelly Water becomes available at other beauty supply stores, I will update this post.
Should You Rinse Off Garnier Micellar Jelly Water?
While you’re not supposed to wash off Garnier Micellar Jelly Water, you should rinse your face afterward.
Micellar water contains surfactants, which can irritate the skin over time if left on every day. It might also cause dryness.
I like to follow up with a dash of The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser. It’s not exactly soap and boosts the effects of the jelly water on my skin.
