I’m trying to live up to my ethos for this website this year by starting off with a protective style challenge. In the last few weeks, I have also incorporated a fitness challenge into my health goals for the year. I am not out of shape. However, I let my fitness goals lapse towards the end of last year and may have descended into a lightweight version of skinny-fat.
Over the rest of the year, I will be incorporating various fitness programs into my lifestyle and rotating them based on the results I observe. I will be starting with Focus T25, which is a Beachbody work out program in 3 phases (alpha, beta & gamma) of 30 days each. Each workout lasts 25 minutes with a 5 minute cooldown at the end.
I’m currently very busy with work until March so Focus T25 fits perfectly into my schedule right now. In case you’re wondering whom Beachbody is, they brought us Insanity; another workout program that will be featured here before the year is done.
As with my protective style challenge, the rules are also simple:
- I will do a body measurement thrice – at the beginning of the year, midway through the year and at the end of the year.
- I will be incorporating more healthy foods into my diet and endeavour to eat at least 90% of my meals at home where I can control the ingredients. I will be sharing some of the recipes here in case you want to follow me on the challenge.
- Have one cheat day every week – mine is Friday.
- Follow the rules and recommendations of the workout program.
I’ve kept the rules simple and measurable because I’m not about that draconian keep fit life. I also don’t intend to give up anything I like eating. Having said that, I should mention I am a picky eater and there are many many things I don’t consume like junk food, sodas, etc.
I’m keeping track of both challenges on the website because I want to be accountable and also encourage fans to be inspired and start their own challenges or join this one.
