What To Look Out for in the Best Avocado Oil?

When shopping around for the best avocado oil, there are 5 things to keep in mind:-

1. Production Method

There are two production methods for avocado oil – 100% avocado oil extracted from the fruit without using heat or chemicals. Usually labeled “extra virgin” or “cold-pressed” and refined avocado oil.

Refined avocado oil is processed with heat and chemicals. This process removes impurities and neutralizes the flavor so it has a high smoking point.

Both are fine for use in hair care and cooking but for the face, you should for the cold pressed avocado oil. Avoid avocado oil produced via solvent extraction.

2. Proper Packaging

Avocado oil, like most oils, doesn’t do well when exposed to light and air. Opt for oils that come in a dark bottle or light-protective packaging. If it comes in a clear bottle, be sure to store it in a dark cupboard.

3. Certifications

Organic and/or non-GMO plus not adulterated with other oils are usually indicators of quality-produced oils.

4. Brand Reviews

Check reviews on various websites before you choose an avocado oil brand. The reviews section is a good place to find out if a brand sucks or not.

5. Price

High-quality avocado oil doesn’t come cheap. The cold-pressed versions can be more expensive than expeller-pressed but they are both expensive.

Cheaper versions may be lower in quality or adulterated with other oils to lower costs.
