7 Peach Oil Benefits for Healthy Hair Growth

Peach oil aka peach kernel oil is legendary for its multifaceted uses in hair, beauty, and aromatherapy. It’s a light and highly penetrating oil that’s easily absorbed into hair and skin.

When people think of peaches, summer, cobblers, and grilling are what usually come to mind but nestled within this fruit is an amazing oil.

In this article, I explore the benefits of peach oil for hair, how to use peach oil, and the best brands of peach oil.

What is Peach Oil?

Peach oil (prunus persica) is extracted from the pit of the peach stone via a cold pressing method.

Peach oil is pale orange in color and has a pleasant, neutral aroma. Peach oil is similar to apricot kernel oil and sweet almond oil

All these oils can be used interchangeably in DIY treatments depending on your preference.

What Does Peach Oil Smell Like?

Peach oil has a subtle, neutral smell that isn’t peach-like. Peach oil doesn’t smell like peaches exactly but it has a nice tropical hint that isn’t overpowering.

Is Peach Oil Good for Hair?

Peach oil is very good for the hair and scalp and has similar benefits to sweet almond oil and apricot kernel oil.

All three carrier oils are emollients, nourish the scalp, and soften hair. Indeed, sweet almond oil is one of the key ingredients in Iyanu Premium Hair Growth Oil.

5. Enhances Shine

Peach oil coats the hair shaft and enhances the shine of dry and dull hair. It also smoothens out frizz and flyaways.

6. Improves Scalp Health

Peach oil is rich in antioxidants vitamins A and E which can help soothe scalp issues such as dandruff, dryness, psoriasis, and eczema.

And because it’s so light, it’s absorbed quickly into the scalp and won’t leave an oily feeling behind.

7. Excellent Base for DIY Formulations

Because of its delicate smell and light texture, peach oil makes for an excellent base for DIY shampoos, conditioners, balms, serums, face oil, and body oil.

Peach Oil vs Apricot Kernel Oil

Peach oil and apricot kernel oil have similar structures. However, peach oil has more calcium, proteins, iron, and magnesium.

When it comes to hair and skin care, whichever one you choose depends on your preferences but they can both be swapped for each other easily.

Another complementary oil to peach oil and apricot kernel oil is sweet almond oil.
