You buy a domain name, choose your blogging platform and a host, connect your domain name to your host and start blogging.
However, there are a few more steps involved between buying the domain name and connecting the domain to your host before you can start blogging.

Yes, you can start a blog for free on WordPress and Blogger, and use their free themes.
However, if you want to turn your blog into a business and make money from it, then you should start on the right footing.
The good thing is it’s not that expensive to get started with the basics then as you grow your blog and make money, you can increase your budget for growing your blog.
It’s the same thing I did. I invested in the basics then stuck to free tools and resources.

Below is a basic breakdown of the framework involved in starting a profitable blog:-
- Domain name
- Hosting company
- Choosing a blogging platform (WordPress or Blogger)
- Connect your domain with your hosting company
- Install a theme on your new website
- Activate other branding elements such as logo, colours, etc
- Activate free SEO elements such as Google Analytics, All in One SEO, etc
- Set up email capture options
- Start blogging
As I said above, there is a lot more than the basics required to start making money with a blog. If you build it, they will not come.
