Pubic hair oil is fantastic for the pubic area. Pubic hair oil softens the hair around your delicate areas and keeps it moisturized and fluffy in-between trims.
Pubic hair oil isn’t something that immediately comes to mind when you think about oils though we spend a lot of time taking care of our hair and skin with natural oils.
After all, it’s not like you walk around with it in a visible mode.
Perhaps you even shave it clean so why should it matter? However, it does matter a great deal.
The pubic area hair can get quite itchy and uncomfortable if it isn’t taken care of properly.
Even if you shave it clean, it can still be dry to the touch and might have ingrown hairs or uncomfortable bumps.
Additionally, prickly regrowth that feels like a brillo pad to the touch can be annoying as well.
Can I Oil My Pubic Hair?
Yes, you can oil your pubic hair without any issues provided you use the right oil (s). Below, are just 9 reasons why it’s a good idea to oil your pubic hair.
9 Reasons You Need Pubic Hair Oil
1. Prevents Ingrown Hairs
Ingrown hair can be itchy and cause redness and irritation on the skin. In the pubic area, covered up all day, it can be doubly annoying.
Pubic hair oil can help alleviate and prevent ingrown hairs.
2. Eliminates Itchiness
With a combination of different natural oils, frequent application of pubic hair oil can help eliminate dryness and itchiness in the pubic area.
3. Smoother Pubic Hair
How does smooth and silky pubic hair sound? With pubic hair oil, the pubic area will sprout softer, smoother, and silkier pubic hair over time.
4. Reduces Friction with Underwear
The regrown hair will be softer to the touch and feel silky preventing it from causing friction against your underwear while working out or during intimate moments.
5. Reduces Irritation
Applying pubic hair oil before shaving will help reduce skin irritation experienced with shaving, waxing, etc.
6. Hydrates Pubic Hair
Pubic hair can get just as dry and brittle as the hair on your end. Treating with oil hydrates and moisturizes the pubic hair.
7. Enhances Grooming
Most pubic hair oils are scented with natural products that can enhance your grooming routine and provide a pleasant scent without irritating the area.
8. Suitable for All Skin Types
Pubic hair oil is comprised of gentle natural oils and essential oils that are suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.
And if you find the oil is not gentle enough for your area, you can easily DIY pubic hair oil with ingredients that work well for your skin type.
9. Non-Comedogenic
Check the ingredients to make sure they include moisturizing yet non-comedogenic oils. The pubic area skin can get clogged and experience breakouts as well.
The good news is there is an oil mix to rescue the pubic area for sure. This is a pubic hair oil I made myself and have been testing for the last month.
I love it and find it moisturizing with a light pleasant scent.
What Oil is Good for Pubic Hair?
For the pubic hair and surrounding areas, you want a moisturizing oil that isn’t too thick, has a neutral scent, doesn’t cause greasiness and is quickly absorbed into the skin.
Some of the best oils for pubic hair include grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, and watermelon seed oil.
I have included a great DIY pubic hair oil recipe below. It’s quick and easy to throw together and a completely natural mix.

How to Use DIY Pubic Hair Oil
1. Pubic Hair Oil Post Shower
After showering every evening, apply lightly to your pubic area while still damp.
2. Pubic Hair Oil Post Exfoliation
Two or three times a week, when showering in the morning, use a loofah to gently exfoliate the area then apply the oil afterward.
This is especially good for aftershave days.
3. Pubic Hair Oil Pre & Post Shaving
Apply lightly to your pubic area before you shave. NEVER dry shave and always shave in a downward motion.
After shaving, wipe the area with a warm washcloth then reapply the oil. Do this every morning for at least 2 weeks after shaving.
A little of the pubic hair oil is all you need. Rub it in until it’s absorbed.
With continuous use of this mixture over 4 – 6 weeks, expect to see a turnaround in your pubic area hair.
This is effective whether you maintain a full garden or a clean landing strip. Do not let the pubic hair oil get into your coochie. Use it externally only.

I’m wondering if the recipe is incorrect? Would it maybe be 5 teaspoons, or even drops for the sea buckthorn oil, and watermelon seed oil? Otherwise, that seems like an awe full lot of those oils to add to a 4 oz bottle. Thanks for your help.

That should be an 8 oz bottle. I've updated. Thanks for catching the error.
